Now that's a lacrosse game!

Well, I have to admit that after watching my daughter's season opener on the weekend, I was a bit concerned by what the season might hold for us. The girls were sluggish, out of sync, and had to contend with a huge and talented goalie on the other team. Not that they can't overcome that and mesh as a team. But with the box lacrosse season so short, there's really not much time to spend meshing.

Tonight however, they played a great game--like they were a totally different team. They ran, they passed, and they made some incredible moves. The teamwork was phenomenal. The girls also spent a fair bit of time in the penalty box but, I'm pleased to say, not nearly as much time as the other team, who played most of the second period shorthanded.

The Salmonbellies kept a solid lead for the first and second periods, but Coquitlam picked up their game at the top of the third and almost caught up to the Bellies. After a well-timed time-out by the Bellies, though, the team regrouped and ended up winning 10 to 4. SS got a couple of hat tricks and CM got a hat trick as well. Well done, Midget girls.
