The game

Playing Burnaby was not like I remember it. For years the girls team had a reputation for faking injuries. They seem to have outgrown that--at least at the Midget level.

Tonight's game was not as close as I expected it to be. The Bellies won 15-1. Burnaby certainly didn't play badly, but our girls' offense was outstanding. I'd never seen them pass so well before. Something has definitely clicked. My daughter had a great goal in her newly created fool-the-goalie style (I'm not going to give away her secret here) and AB made a wonderful shot behind her back. The other goals were strong as well--all 13 of them. What's most interesting, though, is the fact that we had seven players away tonight, six with injuries and one with a previous commitment, and had to call up four players from the bantam level--amazing that they fit in so well and even scored a few goals.
