That's the spirit

I love it when local kids make it to the senior Salmonbellies team. And that's what happened with Jordan McBride, who played for the Junior 'Bellies last year. This article from the CanWest conglomerate quotes Jordan's dad as saying the following: "Jordan let all the teams that called him know that the only team he wanted to play for was New Westminster...
He's really happy that he'll still be wearing a Salmonbellies jersey."

Congrats to Jordan and his family. See you when the season starts.

Powell River find

Yesterday I picked up an old wooden lacrosse stick in an antique shop in Powell River (a town without a lacrosse team). I don't know much about it yet. The dealer said he purchased it in an estate sale on Vancouver Island. The stick's been well used, which is nice. There are a few markings on it: "Senior" is stamped in one spot and a name is stamped elsewhere. The ink is faded, however, so I can't make out the full name. I'll try to do a bit more research on it to see what I can come up with.
